History: Founded by Robert Rückel, it was first developed by historians and creatives in late 2022. The museum opened on June 17, 2023. The designers aimed for a time travel experience, as it uses projections, realistic setups, and interactive elements in an effort to immerse you in the 12 eras of Germany.

The 12 eras the Deutschland Museum covers are the Tribal Ages, the Early Middle Ages, the High Middle Ages, the Reformation, the Enlightenment, the age of the German Confederation, the era of the German Empire and World War One, the times of an interwar Weimar Republic, the times of the Nazi Regime, the division of Germany, the East-West German rivalry, and the modern Federal Republic of Germany after reunification.

The Deutschland Museum is the first German museum to win the Thea Award, a prestigious international award, also known as the “Oscar of the Industry.”  It is the sister museum of the German Spy Museum, which is next door to the Deutschland Museum.

My Visit: When I entered the first exhibit about Tribal Germany, I was instantly amazed by the amount of work and detail the organizers included. They incorporated sounds, copied artifacts, and did extremely well in immersing me in the era.

I walked through each exhibit, from the Tribal Ages to Modern Germany, and noticed each exhibit had at least one interactive display.

I felt deeply impressed by the museum. I could tell the amount of work they put into building the museum paid off. After I was done with the museum, I headed to the Reichstag.

I like how you included so many pictures of artifacts, including a glimpse of a WWII movie!
